Hi, I’m Ellen.
If you’re a hospice nurse, especially a new one, I’m so glad you’re here.
I know this work can be beautiful, meaningful… and sometimes incredibly heavy.
For more than 30 years as a nurse—and over 13 years in hospice—I’ve walked beside patients and families during some of life’s most sacred moments. Along the way, I’ve learned something I wish every new hospice nurse knew:
You don’t have to carry this work alone.
That’s why I write.
Through my book, blog, newsletters, and resources, my hope is to encourage hospice nurses with practical wisdom, honest stories, and gentle reminders to care for themselves as faithfully as they care for others.
Because the world needs compassionate hospice nurses like you—and hospice nurses need encouragement too.
Why this matters so much to me
Long before I became a nurse, my father taught me something that has guided my entire life.
He would tell all five of us,
“Get your education first. Nobody can take that away from you.”
His words changed the course of my life.
Today they continue to shape everything I create.
One of my greatest dreams is to use the proceeds from my writing to establish scholarships for students in Christian schools, helping them pursue the education that meant so much to my father.
In many ways, every book I write is part of his legacy.
